Awake NY gives Jordan 5 Retro a new look in 2025 release

 

The Jordan 5 Retro Awake NY Arctic Pink (DV4982-600) and Jordan 5 Retro Awake NY Black/Racer Blue (DV4982-004) form a striking collaboration between Jordan Brand and the New York streetwear label Awake NY. The release of both colorways is scheduled for August 2025 and is not only a visual update of the classic Jordan 5 silhouette but also a cultural statement connecting New York street style with basketball heritage.

Background of the model / collaboration

Awake NY, founded by Angelo Baque (former Supreme), is known for its strong visual identity and connection to New York culture. In this collab with Jordan Brand, the iconic Air Jordan 5 model receives a complete restyling. The distinctive mesh panels on the sides are replaced by the recognizable “A” logo of Awake NY, giving this silhouette a visual deviation from the original design for the first time. Both colorways are produced in limited quantities and feature, besides the renewed netting, unique branding such as “NY” on the side, co-branded tongue labels, numbering on the inside, and customized packaging. The collab is much more than just a new colorway; it is one of the most distinctive Jordan 5 editions in recent years.

Arctic Pink (DV4982-600)

• Materials: Suede upper in pastel pink with black, white and metallic silver accents
• Color usage: Arctic Pink, University Red, Black, White and Clear
• Branding: Awake “A” netting, “NY” and “23” stitched on the heel, co-branded tongue
• Special details: Each pair is numbered (0001/7000), exclusive packaging

Black/Racer Blue (DV4982-004)

• Materials: Black leather upper with suede overlays and Racer Blue accents
• Color usage: Black, Racer Blue, Metallic Silver and Clear
• Branding: Same unique netting and heel branding as Arctic Pink
• Special details: Limited to 13,000 pairs, reflective tongue, and custom box

Both sneakers retain the classic Jordan 5 profile, including the sculpted midsole with shark teeth, translucent outsole, and distinctive lace locks.

Both colorways will appear in August 2025, each with a different distribution strategy:
