The “Sesame” Off-White Air Force 1 made its first public appearance during the Virgil Abloh: The Codes c/o Architecture exhibition at the Rubell Museum during Design Miami 2022. This exhibition, which celebrated Abloh’s legacy as a designer, brought to light a series of unique prototypes and unreleased colorways. Among those models was the Sesame – a version that immediately caught attention due to its soft, earthy tone and metallic details.

Initially, rumors circulated that the sneaker would release exclusively in Qatar, linked to the Figures of Speech exhibition, but that drop moment never happened. Since then, the “Sesame” has grown into one of the most hyped unreleased Off-White AF1s – until now, because in the fall of 2025 the sneaker finally gets an official retail release.

 

Design and details

• Upper: Sand-colored nubuck, finished with visible stitching and manual panel accents.
• Swoosh: Metallic silver with a contrasting blue label, a direct eye-catcher.
• Tong & branding: Unfinished foam edges, an Off-White tag, and the recognizable zip tie in bright blue.
• Midsole: Classic AF1 sole with “AIR” print, executed in a slightly yellowed Sail tint that enhances the vintage look.
• Packaging: According to early leaks, the sneaker appears in a custom Off-White x Nike box with minimalist branding.

The result is a sneaker that retains the familiar AF1 DNA, but thanks to the subtle materials and Virgil's distinctive design approach, it still feels unique.
